description
Nothing lies between the whitewashed buildings and the sand and sea, except for the surrounding tropical gardens with their bright flowers and astonishingly lush green lawn.
The owner, Yiannis, built these apartments just yards from the sea some years ago and appropriately named them Galazio Kima meaning ‘blue wave’. He lovingly maintains them in immaculate condition and serves drinks, snacks, local dishes and ice creams from a little bar here, but there is also a mini-market only five minutes walk away along the beach.
Nothing lies between the whitewashed buildings and the sand and sea, except for the surrounding tropical gardens with their bright flowers and astonishingly lush green lawn.
There is also a large swimming pool and children’s pool. The fine, wide beach seems endless, and is surprisingly uncrowded even in high season. Here, soft, deep sand is shaded by tamarind trees and slopes gently into shallow water, making it ideal for children.
New for 2008 Health & Beauty treatments available (payable locally)
The natuaral and unspoiled surroundings of Galazio Kima, combined with the friendly service, induce almost instant relaxation but, in addition, there are optional therapies offered here, which enhance a holistic sense of well-being. A range of wonderfully calming treatments is possible in a newly established treatment room, including gentle eastern massage, shiatsu, and rejuvenating face and body therapies, as well as pedicures and manicures.

how this holiday makes a difference
This is a family run business built by the owners using local contractors and the furniture was produced locally by local craftsmen. The snack bar uses local produce where possible. The information pack in the apartments and our local representative promote many of the local mini-markets, tavernas and businesses to ensure that local people gain maximum economic benefit as well as giving clients our knowledge of the best places to shop. Glass and paper are collected by the owner for recycling at a central location. All the apartments have solar heated hot water which minimises environmental impact and underlies our commitment to sustainability. In addition to this the air-conditioning in apartments only works when guests are in their room and is key controlled. Company policy: As a company we aim to encourage local economic growth and to work in harmony with local communities and to respect their culture, traditions and environments. All of our owners (bar one) and suppliers used are local. We prefer to employ the services of independent local business as suppliers in each of their destinations. We work with local car hire firms for all our car rentals, boat hire firms for boat rental and we utilize the services of local village shops and mini markets to compile our welcome hampers. We also encourage our guests to use the services of local restaurants and shops, archeological sites/excursions - always booking through locals rather than large multi national companies. In addition to this we encourage our guests to visit local attractions and beaches within the area they are staying, as opposed to suggesting they go further afield. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
