Cairngorms bed & breakfast accommodation
We provide luxury bed & breakfast accommodation in a magnificent and tranquil setting within the Cairngorms National Park. Our Cairngorms bed & breakfast accommodation offers views towards the Monadhliath Mountains, Black Wood and River Spey; the Village of Laggan nestles in the hollow of the mountains at the head of 2 glens.
Our 3 spacious ensuite rooms offer you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the peaceful settling. In our lounge area you are more than welcome to peruse our wide selection of books, leaflets and maps of Scotland and the local area, here you can enjoy a pot of Fair Trade Tea or Coffee while you mull over your plans. Within our garden we have created a wildlife area with bird feeding station, Siskens, Coal, Blue and Great Tits, Dunnocks, Chaffinches, Green & Gold Finches are just some of the birds that visit the garden.
Here at our Cairngorms bed & breakfast accommodation we have our own vegetable garden, where we grow by organic methods and guests are more than welcome to wander around the vegetable plot and the rest of the garden. We offer evening meals and guests can be assured that when ever possible the vegetables served will be organic or home grown, along with locally produced meats and excellent Scottish cheeses we offer our guests an opportunity to taste the best Scottish and organic produce available.
There are lots of opportunities for you to enjoy the freedom that this unspoilt area of the Cairngorms National Park offers along with the National Nature Reserve of Creag Meagaidh, which is just a 15-minute drive away.
Biking and cycling: 2 miles from Laggan Wolftrax mountain bike trails & approx 30 miles from Fort William Mountain Bike trails with lots of opportunity for cycling in area, including the Corrieyairack Pass.
Walking: 16 way-marked walking trails from the door as well as countless mountains and munros to explore in the Cairngorms.
Skiing: 25 miles from Cairngorm ski range to the East & 30 miles from Nevis Range in the West.

Our hosts Simon and Fiona advised us as amateur birdwatchers to visit a local site. The visit proved successful when we saw a golden eagle - a first for us, and also a herd of wild deer. (more)

how this holiday makes a difference
Our Cairngorms bed & breakfast accommodation has been awarded Gold standard in the Scottish Green Tourism Business Scheme. We were the first B&B or Guest House within the Cairngorms National Park to reach this level. This recognises the efforts that we go to reduce our impact on the local community and wider environment. These measures include our extensive use of organic and Fair Trade produce, only using eco cleaning products, using energy saving light bulbs, purchasing A+, A & B energy rated appliances and supporting our local suppliers. We reduce our waste to the extent of having 7 compost bins and recycling/reusing all the items that we can – plastic bottles make excellent water feeders in the veg patch and bird feeders in the garden. If you arrive by train or coach we will collect you in our eco friendly Toyota Prius, just one of our on going contributions to reduce our overall impact to the environment. Part of the garden of our Cairngorms bed & breakfast accommodation is a wildlife area where we have planted some bulbs and sown wild flower seeds, and are now just leaving it for nature. There are rotting logs and old house ridge tiles to create habitation for insects to live in. In our vegetable garden we grow whenever possible, plants from organic seeds and use organic methods in our gardening and we hope to eventually be certified organic. While a guest at our Cairngorms bed & breakfast accommodation you can take many walks or bike rides right from the door, walk on the way marked paths, enjoy the climb through the Black Wood to see the Dun Da Lamh (Pictish Fort) with the amazing views down the 2 glens, or take the easy forest path to the abandoned village of Druim an Aird. Every responsibletravel booking has the choice of a free gift of “A Bag for Life” or an “Energy Bulb” as part of our new drive to promote responsible living. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
