the amazing things you'll be doing
On the banks of the stunning Soca River, the small town of Bovec is fast becoming a mecca for water-based adventure seekers.
Born in the Julian Alps, the crystal clear waters offer ideal conditions for a variety of adventurous activities along different stretches of the river. This whitewater week includes: rafting, 2 days kayak tuition, outsider canoeing (two-man inflatables) and canyoning or hydrospeeding. Full instruction and supervision is provided by an expert local team who ease you through progressively more demanding and exciting experiences. Back on dry land we hike into the Julian Alps and there is an option to try a tandem paragliding flight.
No experience necessary but you must be happy in moving water, able to swim, and enjoy the challenge of learning a new sport.

Slovenia is not top of your average traveller's list of places to visit… precisely why it gets our vote. By offering trips in countries that are overlooked by less adventurous travellers, we can give local economies a much needed boost. With small groups participating in low impact activities like kayaking and outsider canoeing, this can be achieved without compromising the environment.
We recognize that the cultures, environments and economies we visit are fragile requiring a sustained commitment from us to ensure that we have a lasting positive effect. Our tourism can be a real help to local communities providing income, positive cultural exchanges and the financial incentive to protect the natural environment. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
