the amazing things you'll be doing
We are here to give to you the magnificent North Norway from the deck of one the largest sailing ships in this part of Norway - also probably the most beautiful and definitely the most comprehensive.
With us you will find the cosy, old-fashioned sailing ship feeling at the same time as you are enjoying the relatively high standard in an home-like atmosphere. If you are not totally relaxed after a couple of hours on board with us, well - then there is a storm outside!
During our voyages we will visit places, with and without people, you maybe not would have been able to visit otherwise, and maybe places that not too many people before you have seen?
We will drop the anchor in hidden bays and coves, stay overnight on land in the traditional Saami tent lavvu and cycle paths that have not had cyclists on their shoulders for many years.
Prices include full board (3 meals, non alcoholic beverages, some fruit and snacks), lodging (fully prepared small double/twin cabins) and harbour fees. Prices exclude flights, beer and personal expenses if shopping! All you need to bring along are suitable clothes, personal items and wine/spirits, if you want any.
Sail And Ski - off piste skiing with guide: 2008: 23 Feb, 01 Mar, 10 May (8 days Kr 14750 (approx £1300)
Bodo to North Cape/Honningsvag: 21 Jun 2008 (13 days) Kr 14900 (approx £1315)
North Cape/Honningsvag to Tromso: 5 Jul 2008 (8 days) Kr 8900 (approx £785)
Tromso to Svolvaer (Lofoten Islands): 2008: 14 Jul, 26 Jul, 7 Aug, 17 Aug (7 days) Kr 7900 (approx £695)
(Prices depend on exchange rates.)

sailing schedule
The sailing schedule is basically a sketch. With this we mean that if there should be no bookings for a scheduled voyage, we have the possibility of doing something completely different from what is in the sailing schedule. You decide! how this holiday makes a difference
|
Our primary aim is to give our guests an impression of "the not so very often seen" part of northern Norway – wildlife, fisheries, "abandoned" places and the magnificent landscape of The Norwegian North.
All our voyages are being made in complete understanding with our cultural, social and ecological surroundings. By this we mean that we shall move like a shadow through the landscape. When we have left, no one shall ever see that we were there. In an ecological context, we will do our very best to sort our litter, so that what can be recycled will be delivered in a proper place. To avoid using diesel, and thereby prevent polluting, we if possible will use the sails (but if there is no wind, this can be difficult….). Our main dishes will basically be from fish, shellfish and game (reindeer), which means that we will support local fishermen and the saami people of the North. All our other food – naturally – has to be bought in the local stores we will pass on our way. We will also harvest if we can, from the fish in the sea, rivers or small lakes to the berries on the plains. The harvesting is off course to be done with good conduct, and the main goal with it is to supply ourselves with food. Our voyages are not actively guided voyages. We want our guests to be the curious, adventurous and an active part. We are only there to make you feel well and responsible. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
