day-by-day itinerary

Sample itinerary A

Day 1:Arrive, get picked up by us and head straight to the Ardèche river to canoe a series of small rapids and flat sections. Pull up on the beach at the bivouac site for a BBQ and a spectacular night under the stars.
Day 2:Wake up on the banks of the river and hit the water for a second day of canoeing rapids, sunbathing and swimming. Shuttle back to accommodation.
Day 3:Just enough time to head to the ropes course for some treetop fun and then on to catch your return transport home. A perfect short break for the actively minded!

Sample itinerary B

Day 1:Arrive, meet us and head to the famous Pont du Gard to see the famous Roman aqueduct en route to your accommodation.
Day 2:Take a stroll to our secret viewpoint over the gorge to marvel at the ancient limestone waterway. Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant before heading off for a little wine tasting. Mmm….
Day 3:Climb aboard our bikes for a day of easy roads and trails to a riverside picnic spot. Return cycle through the vineyards of the Domaine de Colombier.
Day 4:Take the day for a short canoe trip on the river, stopping at beaches to sunbathe, swim and have a nice picnic of local foods from the market.
Day 5:An easy morning walk before we take you to get your transport home.
how this holiday makes a difference
This trip is run in conjunction with local businesses, giving you the chance to experience and contribute to the local environment. We are always mindful of local guidelines and traditions whilst planning excursions and outings. Our trained staff are knowledgeable of the culture and history of the region and are only too happy to share this information and answer your questions.

Our short breaks have many options for accommodation and activities. Each external supplier that we use for these is a locally run business and contributes directly to the local economy. Our walks and sightseeing trips are planned in order to coincide with local markets and points of historical interest.

We encourage the use of our minibus vehicles during your stay so that our contribution to road traffic and pollution is reduced. We also strongly recommend the much greener train option to travel here. There is a direct service from London to Avignon on a Saturday and a one-stop service on all other days.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
