the amazing things you'll be doing
A multi sport adventure holiday, including sea kayaking, mountain biking and white water rafting, with time spent in both Kas and Dalyan.

We use two bases for this holiday. We spend five nights in the cosmopolitan coastal town of Kas and two nights in Dalyan, a small town on the banks of the famous Dalyan River.

Our accommodation in Kas is 3-star overlooking the coast, with stunning views across the Mediterranean. All the bedrooms have balconies, en-suite facilities and air-conditioning. The hotel has a swimming pool overlooking the sea, perfect for at the end of a day of activity.

In Dalyan, we stay at the 3-star Oz Alp Hotel situated within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants, bars and the quay. All rooms have twin or double beds with en-suite shower and WC, telephone, air conditioning and balcony. The hotel has 2 swimming pools, sun terraces, 2 poolside bars, outdoor restaurant and a TV lobby.
day-by-day itinerary
Day 1:Transfers and introduction. We will meet you at Dalaman Airport and transfer to our hotel in Dalyan. This evening we will head into town for our introductory dinner and a few drinks.
Day 2:White Water Rafting. We drive to the fast-flowing Dalaman River for a fabulous white water rafting descent. The Dalaman attracts white water addicts from around the world. You won’t be bored! Lunch included.
Day 3:Saklikent Gorge and Tubing. A rushing river and towering cliffs characterise the stunning 16km long gorge at Saklikent. After exploring on foot we jump on our tubes to spin and twist down the meandering waters of the Karacay River. We also stop for a therapeutic (honest) mud bath/fight!
Day 4:Sea Kayaking. The trendiest mode of transport in the Mediterranean - sea kayaks help us reach the sunken city of Kekova. Further on, we stop for lunch in the village of Simena which is inaccessible by road and boasts a medieval hilltop castle. Lunch included.
Day 5:Free day or optional activities. Today is free for you to try additional activities such as scuba diving, horse riding or paragliding.
Day 6:Mountain Biking. We drive into the mountains behind Kas and discover a completely different world populated by farmers and goat herders. There’s a technical stretch at the start and a difficult ascent midway but for the most part we’ll be able to take in the views as we cycle along country roads and tracks. Your reward is the descent into Kalkan at the end of the ride. That alone is worth the trip to Turkey!
Day 7:Lazy Boat Day. Want to wind down before going home? Forget luxury spas and massages, forget cooling creams and seaweed wraps, the only true way to relax is on an Activities Abroad lazy boat day. Our private boat leaves from the harbour in Kas and explores the islands and inlets of this dramatic and spectacular stretch of the Lycian Coast. Sunbathe, snooze, swim, snorkel, learn to master the best board game in the world backgammon, muck about in the water and generally just chill out. It’s bliss and a barbecue lunch just tops things off nicely. This evening’s farewell dinner in Kas is a time to reflect and exchange addresses, usually into the early hours.
Day 8:Return Transfers to Dalaman Airport.
travellers' tales
Really enjoyed the holiday, partly due to the good weather and the company of the other families. Highlights were river walking through a beautiful canyon in the Garrotxa national park. (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
This activity holiday is based in the Turkish Mediterranean harbour town of Kas. Our contribution to the local community and economy, as well as our efforts to minimise the environmental impact of tourism in Kas and its surrounding area, takes many forms.

We work only with hotels which are either locally owned or employ members of the local community as key members of staff. Picnic supplies are purchased either from local suppliers or direct from local villagers themselves and lunches on activity days are taken at the homes of local villagers when possible who convert their patios into cafes.

When visiting villages we endeavour to arrive by foot and encourage interaction between our groups and the local community to allow each to develop cultural understanding. When motorised transport or transfers are required we use local drivers, often in owner operated vehicles, which brings work to people who may otherwise be under-employed in the community.

For activities motorised transport is kept to a minimum and the activities themselves use equipment which does not impact on the environment e.g. kayaks, rafts and cycles. We actively encourage the purchase of all activity equipment locally where possible provided it complies rigorously with expected standards of quality and safety. Production and disposal of plastic waste is also reduced by dispensing drinking water from re-usable large volume containers.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
