the amazing things you'll be doing
Discover Borneo’s enchanting combination of unique wildlife, mysterious jungles and white tropical beaches. Visit the oldest rainforests in the world, with their rich diversity of wildlife including the orang-utan, Asian elephant and proboscis monkey.

  • Magical wildlife, scenery and beaches
  • Visit the enchanted Turtle Island Park where turtles nest
  • Relax on a tropical island beach at Pulau Tiga
  • Build your own rainforest shelter

From ancient rainforests to tropical islands, we'll witness turtles laying their eggs, bathe in mud volcanoes and snorkel coral reefs in warm tropical waters. We will also visit Gomantong Caves, where thousands of bats live, and spend an active day whitewater rafting and playing on a high ropes course. There will also be an opportunity to experience the local culture with a visit to a rural market and an evening of tribal dancing. Learn jungle survival tactics, raft past remote jungle villages, experience the pure magic of sunset on the South China Sea; nobody can be bored in Borneo.

    small group family holiday
This is a 'small group family adventure' - typically you will join several other families and travel in a group of approx. 16 people. The trips are great value and a great way for you and your children to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of time to yourselves. Most adventure kids tend to be aged between 7 and 15, but some are younger (minimum age is usually 5) and some older (perhaps travelling as part of a larger family group). Please check with the operator to confirm the minimum age for this trip
how this holiday makes a difference
As a part of our continued commitment to responsible tourism, we operate this trip in a way that aims to reduce impacts and to give as much back as possible to the local communities. Borneo is a destination rich in biodiversity, of which we are very aware. We realise that this biodiversity is one of Borneo’s main attractions, so to damage it would be to damage our own company.

Whilst on this trip you will have the chance to visit the Sepilok Orang-utan centre. This centre looks after Borneo’s Orang-utan population, keeping them safe for the pleasure of future generations. Your much needed entry fee will go towards the upkeep of this vital wildlife centre. We have had a long-term relationship with the operator thereby stabilising the income generation and creating a more sustainable future. We have worked with our operator to help train staff in all aspects of their jobs, thereby investing in the people to help improve their knowledge and future prospects. This included Responsible Tourism training.

Our leaders, already committed to Responsible Tourism, have received training and get additional refresher training on a regular basis. Leaders will advise the group on where to shop, what to buy (and not to buy), how to behave, litter policy, drinking water (plastic bottles) and any additional visits to projects that may be of interest.

We use predominantly locally owned and run accommodation on this trip. This contributes directly to the local communities as local staff are employed and locally produced and sourced goods are bought for the accommodation benefiting the wider community. This trip will give you the chance to stay in some traditional community home stays and long houses. The money you spend on these nights will go directly to the local communities creating the greatest possible benefits.

We have at our offices worked to reduce our carbon footprint through a reduction of energy use and energy conservation measures. We also actively reduce the waste produced by having active reduction and recycling policies in place. We run annual staff workshops on Responsible Tourism. Global warming is a reality and to help you make a difference by reducing the carbon dioxide that is produced when you travel we offer a chance to carbon balance your flights. We encourage all our clients to do this and do so for all our staff travel. Go on do your bit!

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
