the amazing things you'll be doing
Cornwall has been the home of British surfing since the 1960s. With its world class Atlantic coastline and waves of all sizes year round, combined with striking sunsets and long, sandy beaches with nothing but the sound of the blue sea breaking on the shore, Cornwall has fantastic beaches and surf for learning and progressing.

We offer fun, educational and memorable incentive / reward based surf trips and can also accommodate and provide full technical equipment for seminars and network meetings. Satisfied clients include Moet Hennessy, Clear Channel UK, Mediacom, Starcom MediaVest and Mindshare. The packages are fully tailor made; you decide the budget and what you'd like to do, and we tailor the trip to you.

A trip to Cornwall is ideal for surfers of all abilities, including first-timers who can take advantage of the long, gradual, sandy shelves into the sea as opposed to the rocky shore dumps offered at other UK and European 'Learner' beaches.

Activities: We do everything we can to make your trip with us as memorable as possible. Here are some adrenaline fuelled activities we can offer: blokarting (small land yachts), kite buggying, zapcats (rigid inflatable boats), speedsailing (cross between windsurfing and skateboarding). Other options include sea fishing, eco wildlife watching boat trips, snorkelling, diving, canoeing, horse riding and golf.

We can organise private beach barbeques, pre-dinner champagne, cocktails & canapes, wine tasting and lunch at a local vineyard, yoga, a full range of in-house massage and beauty treatments, a visit to a local heath spa and gym, a DVD of the trip, and a Goodie bag with Rip Curl sunglasses and Moet champagne plus lots more!

A typical day
A personal representative, contactable 24/7, will be with you through the planning, execution [daily] and post-evaluation stages of the trip. They will even be on the beach with you!

We will organise personalised invitations to send out to your team and group transfer to and from your workplace/Penzance train station. Start with a wake up morning coffee and chat with the team at a local beach followed by 1 hours surf instruction (including hire of wetsuits, boards & beach towels) and a light lunch at a local beach restaurant. You could then opt for more surf instruction, beach ‘yoga for surfers’ or beach games.

Finish with a cold beer or glass of wine, reflect upon the day, and receive your Surf Proficiency Certificates - A great day out for the team!

Accommodation: We can arrange luxury accommodation with stunning views and in walking distance to both award winning restaurants and local Cornish Pubs.
how this holiday makes a difference
Our mission is to provide unique, accessible and sustainable surfing without compromising on luxury or the environment. Further to this we employed Cornwall Sustainable Tourism’s benchmarking system by trying to make all we do match their tenets of sustainability: Social, Economic and Environmental Sustainability.

In April 2006 we became (we think the first) Carbon Neutral Surf School, Surf Vacations Company and Surf Shop in the world. We achieved this by carbon offsetting with a company called C02 Balance. In our office we use recycled paper and envelopes all from sustainable sources, as well as eco friendly cleaning products and Fair trade tea and coffee.

Our desk tidys, inbox shelving and folders are all made from recycled material, our self adhesive labels are solvent free, we even have a stapleless stapler and most of our bags are recycled or recyclable. Our electricity is provided by Ecotricity, we encourage an ambient temperature of 17 degrees or below, low energy bulbs are used where possible and we encourage the turning off of all lights and electrical items when not in use. We have installed combination boilers which reduce the need to heat and store water.

In the accommodation for guests we promote recycling and provide eco friendly cleaning products, recycled goods, Fair trade and locally sourced and organic food where feasible. We maximise on numbers in terms of our own transport and strongly encourage travel to and from Cornwall by train; more than 50 % of our clients reach us this way.

Our staff is all locally recruited and are chosen for their professional attitude and accessible manner. We also care about our local environment, those who work and live here and in our policies we advise groups that we do not tolerate any loud or offensive behaviour. We try and shop as much as possible locally, and recommend locally produced food, local shops, pubs and restaurants e.g. The Trevelyan Farmshop & The Coach and Horses Pub (in Rosdugeon).

We realised that working as an island was not going to help achieve true sustainability so we partnered and reached out:
  • In May 2006 we worked with local schools offering affordable surfing. This relationship has continued into 2008 but uniquely we have now included further educational elements to this with “Surf and Learn” which incorporates a lecture from Surfers Against Sewage.
  • Surfing Birthday Parties: This is open to all locals offering a 40% discount on our usual prices.
  • Corporate Surfing Experiences: Offering local companies the opportunity to incentivise / reward or assist with team building
  • Sure Start government initiative: We worked closely with the WILD group with under 19 single mothers and facilitated a number of courses with very positive results.
  • Surfers Against Sewage: In 2007 we became the very first corporate members of Surfers Against Sewage and support their cause, spread the word and donate prizes regularly.
  • Green Tourism Scheme: Membership due February 2008.
  • Links: We share links with the following: Green Seat, The Hunger site, One Percent for the Planet, Global Angels, Traidcraft, Ecover, Ecotricity, The Soil Association, Recycle for Cornwall
  • Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
