The kayaking is a stoic and relaxing trip in one of the deep fjords of the North-Atlantic Ocean. In the afternoon we continue our exploration of the open sea with a whale watching excursion from Reykjavik down town harbor. |
| Day 2: | Tuesday. On Tuesday we explore the hidden world of the lava field between Þingvellir and Laugarvatn. Walking into the cave, discovering the marvels that the volcanic activity has created. The second adventure of the day is a surreal and breathtaking snorkeling visit to the Silfra ravine in the heart of the park. The Silfra is located on the boundary between America and Europe and offers crystal clear underwater views of the lava fissure. Silfra is one of the top ten dive sites in the world and it’s even better for snorkeling. |
| Day 3: | Wednesday. On Wednesday we start with a hike to the amazing hot spring area of Reykjadalur valley where we take a relaxing bath in a hot river, a fairly easy but rewarding trek in to mountains riddled with hot springs. | Day 4: | Thursday. This is a day to relax and rest up for your last adventure day! Shopping and sightseeing in Reykjavik with a visit to the world famous Blue Lagoon in the afternoon. Come to our shop down town Reykjavík for maps and info, we will book you on the Blue Lagoon bus, offering six different departure times every day. |

On our multi adventure tours through the magnificent Icelandic nature we place a heavy emphasis on our leave no trace policy:
When we need transport between places or transfer of luggage or supplies we offset the carbon emission through the Icelandic Carbon fund. We take part in the Icelandic Nature Conservation organization and through them take an active part in supervision over constructions in the highlands of Iceland. The organization is puplic forum that issues statements and gives their opinion on all matters concerning construction in the Icelandic nature. We recycle as much of our waste as possible. Both at our office, at our base camps, in our restaurant and on tours we take all waste with us and dispose of it after the trip. We only use local guides, Icelanders that are passionate about their environment and its conservation. We run our own guide school here in Iceland. There we train all our own guides. Environmental matters are kind of imprinted in all Icelanders. We are the only nation that depends solely on renewable energies for heating our houses and creating electricity (no fossil fuels except for cars). The conservation of electricity here in Iceland is therefore not the same big issue as else where in Europe. We also have an abundant supply of water since we have very much rain- and snowfall. In addition to that the Icelandic nature is so unspoiled that all running water in Iceland is fit for drinking, right out of the rivers and streams. Hence bottled water is not an environmental concern, it is not used on any of our trips. Every single trip we operate is genially Icelandic, packed lunches are made with Icelandic ingredients such as cabin smoked lamb from Húsavík, dried fish from Vestfirðir. If we dine in restaurants we eat eg: at Rauða Húsið or Hafið Bláa Icelandic seafood restaurants in the small towns of Eyrarbakki and Stokkseyri on North Atlantic coast. All our services are performed in the countryside or highlands and we are fiercely local, using only hostels, guesthouses or hotels where we have a personal relationship with its owners and staff. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
