the amazing things you'll be doing
Casa de Pedro is a place to experience the true essence of Andalucia and is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The farmhouse has 5 double bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to 10 people. However subject to availability it is possible to rent just the main section of the house making it the perfect hideaway for couples or smaller groups.
It is set in its own 4 acres of almond and olive trees and has incredible views down the valley. There is a large main living area with a high vaulted ceiling and a well equipped kitchen. The rooms all have their own unique characteristics and each one is special.
The land around the farmhouse has been designed with wildlife in mind. Large expanses of succulents flower throughout the season. These attract a myriad of insects which in turn attract birds, as do the bird boxes which are situated in various locations. From time to time you can even sea eagles soaring overhead.
Family friendly: It is ideal for families or large groups of people. There is also a travel cot provided for younger children. The land around the house is great for older children to safely explore.
Walking & wildlife: It’s a great base for walking and bird watching.

how this holiday makes a difference
|
A minimum of £150 per rental is donated to the Orangutan foundation to help them conserve an area of rain forest in Borneo.
All hot water is supplied from a solar heating system and all grey water goes back to the land. We provide ecologically friendly cleaning products and toiletries. The harvest from the Almond and olive trees is donated to a local Spanish family. All light bulbs in the house are low energy ones. There are recycling bins for separating cardboard & paper, plastic and glass. For distribution of tour information and pre and post booking we only use the internet and email. Where ever possible we try and run a paper free office. Our office only uses green electricity and we keep consumption as low as possible. All lights are energy efficient and computers are turned off at night. Everything that can be recycled is recycled and all green waste is composted. The majority of our food consumed at our office is organically grown in our garden. Other produce is fair trade where possible. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
